Will Young & The Language of Safey

Hi there,
Just watched a clip on the BBC news website of Will Young in discussion with the journalist Milo Yiannopoulos on the BBC's Newsnight programme. This link will take you there.
From what I heard Will say it sounded very much to me that he was describing teaching children to use The Language of Safety in terms of considering the quality of what they communicate, taking ownership of their thoughts, feelings and behaviour and not describing a person as their behaviour. I also loved the bit where he talks about children being encouraged to be 'freethinkers' which is exactly what PBs promotes, as well as the idea of not 'branding' (really dislike that term used by Milo) people by the behaviour they display.
Will also mentioned that he had been working with Stonewall, so I've just been in touch with the Education Office there to to see if they know anything about the PB process as once again this could be an opportunity to join up yet more work that is consistent with the PB process.

Brilliant Sally Ann
from what you are saying he must have heard or seen some PBs. Especially if he used the word 'freethink' as I have never heard anyone other than PB people use that term. We coined it many years ago. I have a sneaky neurone tickling my memory of someone from Stonewall coming to a training but who knows after so many years ....not to mention my age...
Go for it Sally Ann, I do hope your efforts bear fruit.

OMG I have just watched the clip. Did not do so before as I often cant watch BBC here in OZ.
The Milo person was so non PBs... he talked over, was patronising, misrepresented, do not listen etc etc Yes Sally Ann PLEASE do make contact as the Model for language of Safety so fits in with what Will was saying

I will ask my daughter, who has had been very involved with Stonewall, if she has any contacts to help with this Sally Ann. I am guessing she has mentioned PBs to them as I am always talking with her about it.
