I've just seen this about a new line of clothes for girls, dresses..... with maths symbols on like Pi.
www.theguardian.com/society/2015/feb/20/...clothing-kickstarter
As a person who is a parent to two little girls who did incidentally only own dresses, many dresses, and barely any of them pink, I am not sure I would have deliberately bought dresses with maths/robots/trains on in an anti-pink protest of sorts.
I did buy the youngest child a handmade dress with Buzz and Woody on for Christmas as she went through a 'Toy Story' phase at age 2 1/2, and I think the big thing is choosing - she chose to love Toy Story.
This clothing concept seems to be the opposite of 'pink for girls', I think, but actually, is it empowering "choice" for either the parent or the child, I wonder? Would children or parents really go out of their way to find clothes with maths/science on?...
Feeling interested to hear what people think
