Just seen this about the unwritten rules surrounding fashion.
www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/ap...-katharine-whitehorn
So true, I think!! The 'middle child' in our house, who happens to be a girl, and very into 'female' fashion (some might say a 'girly' girl), has a coat and a cardigan both which button up on the 'other' side and are really 'boys' clothes AND they are real favourites of hers, so I have deliberately never told her the items are boys' clothes.....After all, what does it matter???? I thought the buttons are there to keep the cold out, not to denote who can and can't wear the garment, surely???.....
What do others think, I wonder?....

Hi Judith,
Thanks for this and coincidentally I have been wondering about something similar following some recent PB training and also after reading this item on the BBC news website that talks about 2 young children choosing the things they like to wear and play:
www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-32037397
The book My Princess Boy by Suzanne DeSimone & Cheryl Kildavos was recently recommended to me and I think it's fabulous in so many ways. I think the illustrations are beautiful, (remind me a bit of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's drawings in The Little Prince), and the words really illustrate how 'we all have the right to feel safe all the time' and 'could choose to talk with someone about anything, even if it feels awful or small.'
Here's to a world where people can feel safe enough to be themselves and accept the same in others.
