Children's Rights - TY Amnesty International was created by Sally Ann Hart
A good PB Buddy of mine has just sent me details of a really PB consistent resource produced by Amnesty International called First Steps - a resource designed to introduce human rights to children aged 3-5 by engaging them in discussion to raise awareness of their own rights.
There are five themed lesson plans each focusing on relevant articles proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights covering feelings, relationships and belonging, choices and voices, well-being and bodies. Activities include stories, games, music, art and photography. I really like the way feelings are expressed as feelings rather than what someone is and also the way a whole host of feeling words are introduced.

When I use this resource I would ensure that I emphasised how PB theme 1 'We all have the right to feel safe all the time' covers all the Universal Declaration on Human Rights - simple :)

Would love to hear what those that have used this resource think as well as any other free resources out there that are consistent with the PB process and focus on teaching rights and responsibilities to all people.
