I hope you had fun and discovered lots of choices of how to respond to each scenario - I was faced with the going too fast downhill on my bike yesterday and decided to take my feet of the pedals and brake slowly! (Went from fun to feel scared to feeling unsafe too quickly for me, so I gradually slowed down and started to feel safer - not a fan of too much adventure  )

I really enjoyed hearing Alfie's tip for feeling safer - apparently cheese does it for him!

His 'mum', Donna is really good at making time for her family to talk about anything, even if it feels awful or small. Apparently they call it 'Dinnertime Dilemmas'
I really like this idea and think it could be extended to include 'Breakfast Brainteasers', 'Teatime Teasers' or 'Supper Scenarios'. (These could really challenge the 'Unwritten Rule' of not talking at the table!)

This activity also reminded me of a previous post from Judith Staff regarding simple questions a person could ask before undertaking any sort of 'adventure' - Thanks Judith B)

Day 12 Activity:
Today’s activity is to create a story using at least 10 feelings words, (5 physical and 5 emotional), some randomly chosen objects and include as much of the Protective Behaviours process as you can.
Here’s an example produced by a small group of people as part of a day 2 Foundation Protective Behaviours training activity. They were given their 10 'feelings' words and a variety of fiddle toys including a wooden snake, crocodile, shaker and Zippy to build their story round. In just 10 minutes they did their best to include the Protective Behaviours process and edit in line with the Language of Safety.
Can you spot the 5 physical feelings & 5 emotional feelings?
What parts of the PB process can you identify?

Zippy's Network

Once upon a time there was a little boy called Zippy who had a zip on his mouth. Zippy felt he couldn’t talk with a zip on his mouth as it was always zipped shut.
Zippy felt scared and worried about Snake. Snake went to his school so Zippy saw him every day. Snake called Zippy names. Zippy felt anxious and his palms became sweaty. Zippy wondered who he could talk with? Along came George. Zippy told George that he felt sick and distraught about Snake. He told George,“I do not feel safe.”
By talking with George his zip gradually opened. Instead of feeling subdued he felt shivery with relief.
George talked with Zippy about who else he could talk with and Zippy thought of Crocodile, Teddy, Squidge, Shaker and Octopus. And, if he got really stuck he could call 999.
Zippy now felt happy and hopeful because he would always be able to talk with someone :)

I really enjoyed revisiting this activity and hope you had as much fun taking part :woohoo:
Here's my all time favourite from a while back!
Princess Purple Pants

Princess Purple Pants was feeling depressed. All of her friends had turned up to the party wearing pink pants.
As she walked into the room she felt hot all over. Princess Purple Pants began to fidget, her mouth became dry and her heart began to race. With tears welling up she began to cry. ‘On no’ she thought, ‘those early warning signs’!!
The Purple-Panted Princess thought she didn’t fit in. She didn’t feel safe.
Princess Purple Pants felt anxious. She began to bite her nails and as she looked at her hands she remembered her ‘network hand’.
She spoke with Queen Kylie because with her she could talk about anything even if it felt awful or small.
Queen Kylie told Princess Purple Pants to take ownership of her purple pants, risk on purpose, be an individual and not follow the crowd, (they had shared meaning).
Princess Purple Pants went back into the room feeling ecstatic and strutted her stuff. She looked confident as is ‘felt fun to feel scared’. It was the best party ever!

Day 13 Activity:
Thank youAnn for designing today's activity which well might help Princess Purple Pants feel more confident about who she is and how she looks :P
Looking forward to hearing how you get on with this one.

Hoping you enjoyed talking about and discovering what makes you you - a wonderful opportunity to reflect on individual qualities. Looks like Alfie enjoyed it too!

Day 14 Activity:
Time today to think about the 2 Themes at the heart of the Protective Behaviours process.
Theme 1 says 'We all have the right to feel safe all the time.'
Theme 2 says 'We can talk with someone about anything, even if it feels awful of small.'

Yesterday Ann shared some posters to remind us of how amazing we all are. So today how about having a go at making some posters or a display to reinforce the 2 Themes?
Here's some made earlier
